Author to share mother’s story of the Holocaust

Temple B’nai Shalom and The Daniel Pearl Education Center will sponsor renowned author Dr. Shirley Wachtel at 7 p.m. on April 25 at the temple, 15 Fern Road, East Brunswick, for a discussion tied to “My Mother’s Shoes,” her moving memoir of her mother, a Holocaust survivor.

Wachtel, a 30-year resident of East Brunswick, is a professor at Middlesex County College and is also the author of the novel “The Music Makers,: several children’s books and college textbooks. Her next book, “Three for a Dollar,” a compilation of original short stories, will be published in June.
