EDISON — An investigation is ongoing into what caused a fatal one-car accident that claimed the life of a 22-year-old Woodbridge man along Executive Avenue, near Meadow Road last week, police said.

Addam Knowlson was pronounced dead in the incident that occurred around 8:20 p.m. on April 18.

A passing motorist dialed 911 after they noticed Knowlson’s black 2012 Ford Focus on the side of the road. However, they told Police Officer Nicole Errico that they did not witness the accident itself.

Emergency medical technicians from JFK Medical Center, Edison firefighters and the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Edison Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
