MARLBORO – The Township Council has awarded a contract to JADS Construction of South River for this year’s drainage and road improvement projects in the community.

On April 20, council members approved a $1.03 million bid for the work with a 5-0 vote from council President Jeff Cantor, Vice President Randi Marder, Councilwoman Carol Mazzola, Councilman Scott Metzger and Councilman Michael Scalea.

The bid from JADS Construction was the lowest bid of seven bids that were received from companies interested in performing the work.

Roads included in the 2017 capital improvement plan will be Hillside Terrace; Hamilton Avenue; Burr Avenue (up to No. 8); the intersection of Fairview Road and Prescott Drive; Clayton Lane; North Main Street (Route 79); Waywood Drive; Ogden Street; Allen Road; Newton Street; and the intersection of Taylor Road and Stockton Drive.

“We are going to continue our capital infrastructure improvement program by taking advantage of low interest rates and our high bond rating,” Mayor Jonathan Hornik said. “We are making a push to fix as many roads as possible in this environment.”
