South Brunswick Police Department to administer entrance exam

Applications for the 2017 police entrance exam for the South Brunswick Police Department will be accepted through May 26. The department will then administer a competitive exam from the New Jersey State Chiefs of Police Association on June 12.

The department currently has 80 full-time sworn officers and handles more than 78,000 calls annually. The 42-square mile township has more than 43,000 residents and one of the premier public school systems in the State.

At a minimum, candidates must be 18-35 years of age; possess a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university or have four years of active military service in the United States Armed Forces with an honorable discharge; be U.S. citizens and hold a current driver’s license.

The department anticipates up to 1,000 candidates will take the exam at South Brunswick High School, 750 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.
