Hydrostatic testing begins in North Brunswick

Eric Sucar
The large raft nicknamed the "African Queen" sets out into Allentown Lake during the flotilla held along Sensi Park in Allentown on Thursday, June 26. Members of the Allentown Presbyterian Church stayed on the raft for 72 hours to raise awareness of a trip they will make to Malawi, Africa on August 2.

Sunoco Pipeline L.P. will be conducting hydrostatic testing on the pipeline in the Farrington Lake area, in the vicinity of the overhead utility lines, beginning on May 4.

Part of the testing will include purging the pipeline of product. The purging requires a venting process that may create a loud sound for an extended period of time.

Venting will occur again between May 12 and 15.
