The East Brunswick residents were married on May 5, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York. In 1970 they moved from Brooklyn to Floral Park, New York, where they spent 36 years before moving to New Jersey in 2006.

Sue enjoys ceramics, knitting, cooking, baking, shopping and working on puzzles. James enjoys woodworking, framing his children’s and grandchildren’s pictures and teaching himself how to use the Apple iPad.

The two will celebrate their anniversary with their son James H. Cornell of Shirley, New York; their daughter Kathy Laferrera of Lebanon; their daughter Doreen Haney of East Brunswick; and their grandchildren AJ, Alyssa, Justin, David, Scott, Karen, Sean, Ashley and a baby girl due in July.

“They say the key is to start each day with a kiss, and end each day the same.”
