North Brunswick hires patrolman for duty

NORTH BRUNSWICK – The North Brunswick Police Department has added another patrolman to its roster.

Robert J. Mattei was administered the oath of office during the May 1 council meeting.

Mattei, 30, is a lifelong resident of North Brunswick and graduate of North Brunswick Township High School. He has worked for the township for 13 years, most recently for the North Brunswick Department of Public Works’ Sewer Division and part-time for George Logan Towing.

He is a graduate of North Brunswick Township High School and earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice/police science from Middlesex County College.

He graduated from the Mercer County Police Academy on April 21.

The hiring of Mattei is in response to replacing retiring officers, according to Police Director Kenneth McCormick.
