Registration now open for Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Race/Walk

The Sisters Network of Central NJ Inc. (SNCNJ) will kick off its 13th annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Race/Walk on Oct. 7 at Colonial Park, 156 Mettlers Road, Somerset.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and a warm-up will take place 15 minutes before the event.

The race will also feature health vendors, free refreshments, a Survivors’ Table, Survivors’ Photo Shoot, live entertainment and a local DJ. Trophies will be presented in several categories.

The cost is $25 for those who register by June 30 or $35 after that date and $25 for seniors and children age 8-17.

The race will be officially timed by BEST Racing.

SNCNJ is an affiliate chapter of Sisters Network Inc., a National African American Breast Cancer Survivorship Organization, and provides pertinent breast health and awareness education, information, breast cancer advocacy and support for women who are diagnosed and offers critical support services for uninsured and underserved breast cancer survivors and their families.

Monthly survivors’ support meetings are conducted every first Monday at the organization’s facility at 1201 Hamilton St., Somerset. Visit www.sncnj.org for additional information and event updates.
