Officials investigate fatal shooting on Mother’s Day

NORTH BRUNSWICK – Authorities are investigating the details surrounding a fatal shooting in North Brunswick this past weekend.

Patrick Olarerin, 57, of North Brunswick, was found in his apartment around 5:15 a.m. on May 14 and then taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, according to a statement provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Director Kenneth McCormick of the North Brunswick Police Department (NBPD).

Olarerin was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to James O’Neill, spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office.

No further details were released.

The fatal shooting is being investigated by Detective Seeta Jones of the NBPD and Detective David Abromaitis of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. Anyone with information should call Jones at 732-545-3200 or Abromaitis at 732-745-3300.
