Police apprehend suspects in theft of truck tailgates

JACKSON – Detectives from the Jackson Police Department have arrested three men and charged them in connection with the theft of Ford pickup truck tailgates from various locations in the community.

In a May 9 press release, police said a 28-year-old man from Manchester was arrested by detectives Scott Conover and Keith Hood on May 8. The suspect was charged with two counts of theft and five counts of receiving stolen property. He was initially placed in the Ocean County Jail, Toms River.

Police said a 31-year-old man from Jackson was charged with five counts of receiving stolen property. He was processed and released.

Police said a 32-year-old man from Jackson was charged with five counts of receiving stolen property. He was processed and released.

The thefts of the tailgates in Jackson occurred between April 27-29 on the following streets: Dahlia Court (tailgate from a 2008 Ford F-450), Whispering Oaks Way (tailgate from a 2015 Ford F-350), Atterbury Court (tailgate from a 2012 Ford F-350), Adelphi Drive (tailgate from a 2011 Ford F-350), Drexel Drive (tailgate from a 2008 Ford F-250) and Nicole Court (tailgate from a 2016 Ford F-350).

Sgt. Christopher Parise, the public information officer for the police department, said police were able to recover five stolen tailgates – four from thefts that occurred in Jackson and one tailgate that was stolen in Brielle.
