Few details released in shooting at Old Bridge limo company

OLD BRIDGE — Police are continuing to investigate a shooting at a limousine company that left a 44-year-old Staten Island man in critical condition last week.

According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Police Chief William Volkert of the Old Bridge Police Department, the victim was hospitalized after he was wounded at about 9 a.m. May 16 at the business on Route 9 in Old Bridge.

The shooting is being investigated by Detective Michael Machen of the Old Bridge Police Department and Detective Mark Morris of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

A shelter in place was put in place at three Old Bridge Public Schools — Alan B. Shepard Elementary, James McDivitt Elementary and Carl Sandburg Middle School — after the reported shooting.

As of May 22, there was no new information on the incident, according to Jim O’Neill, public information officer for the Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation is active and is continuing.
