Middletown Library holds reading program June through August

Teens can sign up for the Middletown Township Public Library’s summer reading program in order to “Build a Better World.”

The program runs from June 26 to Aug. 18 at the library, which is located at 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown. The program is for residents in grades 6 through 12, and challenges students to read five books during the summer, according to the library’s press release.

After each book is read, the student will get a prize, including gift cards for an Applebees Ice Cream Sundae, Chipotle meal, Hole-In-One Golf, a Sky Zone Jump pass, and a free book, according to the release. Also according to the release, when all five books are read, students will receive a raffle ticket for one of the grand prizes that include a $50 Amazon gift card,  a trip to the Museum of Natural History in New York City for four along with a ride on the Seastreak Ferry.There will be weekly drawings as well for additional prizes.

The library also invites students to try the “Build a Better World” program this summer that starts June 1 at the library. The program challenges students to help out in their community.
