Colts Neck has contested Republican primary

Voting on Election Day, voting ballot
COLTS NECK – There will be a contested Republican primary in Colts Neck on June 6.
Tom Orgo, Edward Eastman and Michael Viola have filed nominating petitions to seek two seats on the Township Committee. The top two vote-getters in the primary will earn spots on the Nov. 7 ballot.
Two three-year terms on the committee will be up for grabs on the November ballot. No Democrats filed to run for office. Republicans hold all five seats on the governing body.
Orgo and Eastman are currently serving on the Township Committee. Their terms will end on Dec. 31.
Frank Rizzuto is running unopposed for a one-year term. He was appointed to an open seat on the committee in February to serve through 2017. He will run in November for the right to remain on the governing body through 2018.
Orgo is seeking the nomination to run for his third term on the governing body.

Viola is a member of the Colts Neck Wildlife Committee and the Shade Tree Commission.

Eastman served on the committee from January 2009 through December 2011. He was appointed to a vacant seat in February 2016 and was elected in November 2016 to serve through 2017. He is now seeking a full three-year term.

In a press release, Orgo, Rizzuto and Viola said they are running as a team.
