Owner of George Logan Towing passes away

NORTH BRUNSWICK – George E. Logan Jr. started George Logan Towing, Inc. along Route 130 in North Brunswick in 1950 with a wooden box of tools and one wrecker with a hand crank winch.

Almost seven decades later, Logan passed away on May 24 at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 87.

Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Highland Park and the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick 67 years ago, according to his obituary.

He was a volunteer fireman with North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2 for several years in the 1950s. He had numerous life memberships in area volunteer fire companies and first aid squads and is an honorary fire chief to many departments throughout Middlesex County, according to his obituary. He is also a PBA Silver Life Card Member.

Visitation and a funeral Mass were held at Our Lady of Peace Church in North Brunswick. Burial followed in St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Brunswick. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
