getTV Adds Designing Women

getTV is bringing the1986 Emmy-winning sitcom Designing Women to its lineup beginning with a special countdown event featuring 30 of the series’ top episodes on Monday, June 19 through Friday, June 23 with six episodes each evening that week starting at 9 p.m. ET. Designing Women can then be seen in getTV’s daytime lineup at 11 a.m. ET starting Monday, June 26. The network has acquired five seasons of this acclaimed series, so get ready to see guest appearances by Dolly Parton, Hal Holbrook and many others. The series was known for portraying strong female characters and stars Dixie Carter, Delta Burke, Annie Potts and Jean Smart.

FOX will debut the new season of So You Think You Can Dance on Monday, June 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by Cat Deeley and featuring the return of Mary Murphy as judge, alongside Nigel Lythgoe, the series enters its 14th season. Highly-skilled dancers between the ages of 18 and 30 will showcase their talents in various dance styles, including contemporary, tap, hip-hop, ballroom, animation, breaking and more. The top 10 dancers will be paired up with All-Stars who will guide them throughout the competition as they vie for America’s votes and the title of America’s Favorite Dancer. Then at 9 p.m. ET/PT, get ready to have your mind blown when FOX premieres Superhuman. Hosted by actor Kal Penn, and featuring panelists Mike Tyson, Christina Milian and Dr. Rahul Jandial, this jaw-dropping series of one-hour episodes tests the abilities of ordinary people to use their extraordinary skills to win a $50,000 grand prize. In each episode, five contestants who possess a distinct, nearly super-human ability in fields such as memory, hearing, taste, touch, smell, sight and more, are challenged to push their skills to the limit.

British comedic legend Tommy Maitland has been announced to host ABC’s irreverent talent show competition The Gong Show, which premieres on Thursday, June 22, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The show is executive produced by actor/comedian Will Arnett. Every episode will celebrate unusually talented and unique performers on a primetime stage. A revolving panel of judges featuring Hollywood’s hottest stars praise, critique and gong contestants in one of TV’s all-time great variety shows. “When Will Arnett came to me and asked me to host ‘The Gong Show,’ I said, ‘I’m honored at the request, but I’m retired,” said Tommy Maitland. “Then he told me how much I was being paid, in U.S. dollars, and I said, ‘I’m still honored, but no longer retired.”
