Equipment stolen from business

JACKSON – A landscaping business was the target of burglars during a recent incident, according to the Jackson Police Department.
At 5:20 a.m. June 7, a burglary and theft was reported at Down to Earth Landscaping, Wright-Debow Road. Landscaping equipment valued in excess of $10,000 and a company vehicle were reported stolen from the property.
Police said the suspects damaged a fence with the vehicle as they took it from the scene. The vehicle was later located by the Trenton Police Department in their jurisdiction. Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact police at 732-928-1111.
In other incidents reported by police:

• At 1:30 a.m. June 7, officers responded to a report of an out-of-control male at a residence on Louisiana Parkway. Upon arrival, the officers encountered people outside the home who were being yelled at by a 19-year old male.

Police said as the officers attempted to intervene in the situation, the man yelled obscenities at them and attempted to run away. The officers pursued the man, caught him and took him into custody. He was charged with criminal mischief for causing damage at the residence, disorderly conduct and obstruction of the administration of the law.

A 27-year old female at the scene was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Belmar and turned over to the Belmar Police Department.

• At 2:50 p.m. June 7, a female resident of Hopewell Township reported a theft which occurred at the Jackson Premium Outlets, Route 537. The woman told police that while she was eating at the outlet mall’s food court, she was approached by a man and a woman who asked to sit at her table.

When the couple left the table, the woman observed that her purse had been stolen from the back of her seat. The woman told police it appeared that an unknown male associated with the couple stole her purse while she was distracted.
