North Brunswick police warn against iPhone scam

NORTH BRUNSWICK – A newly reported phone scam is targeting iPhone users.

Residents have been receiving phone calls from a number that shows up on Caller ID as “Apple,” according to information provided by the North Brunswick Police Department.

Once the resident answers, the caller advises that their phone has been compromised and that in order to avoid being hacked, personal information is needed, according to police.

Authorities are reminding residents to never provide personal or identifiable information over the phone.
