North-South all-star football game features 13 local players

The 39th annual Phil Simms North-South Football Classic June 26 will include 13 players from the region.

The all-star football game, which attracts the top graduating senior players from throughout New Jersey, will be held at Kean University in Union. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

All 13 of the local athletes will be members of the South all-star team.

On the South offense are quarterback Donald Glenn of Middletown High School North, running back Mike Gawlik of Jackson Memorial High School, wide receivers Quassim Glover of Woodbridge High School and Derek Wiley of Matawan Regional High School and linemen Thomas Clark of Colts Neck High School, Tim Leonard of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and Mitch Mills of Jackson Memorial.

The South defense includes lineman Vincent Gargiulo of Colts Neck, linebacker Matt Thompson of Raritan High School and backs Mekai Gandy of Howell High School, Jayson Demild of Sayerville War Memorial High School, Nick Sodano of Old Bridge High School and Maxx Imsho of Middletown High School South.
