NORTH BRUNSWICK – Just two years after joining the North Brunswick School District, the principal of Parsons Elementary School will be moving on.
Luis Ramirez announced on June 14 that he will be joining the Princeton Public School District as an elementary school principal.
“It is with a heavy heart and deep gratitude I inform you I will be leaving my position as the principal of Parsons Elementary School this summer,” Ramirez wrote in a letter posted on the school’s website.
As previously reported in the Sentinel, Ramirez has been an educator for more than 25 years, spending the first nine years of his career teaching in Pennsylvania and the past 16 years in New Jersey.
During his career, he has helped develop curricula, modeled Differentiated Instruction and written and presented professional development sessions in numerous subject areas.
His educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree from West Chester University, a Master’s Degree from Holy Family University and a Certificate of Educational Leadership from Cabrini College.
“Parsons Elementary School is moving in a positive direction, thanks to the dedicated staff members, students, administrators, and … the community. The growth in the overall academic and social program has been remarkable over the past two years. There are new academic opportunities for students that were not previously available. Our Character Education programs have taught students to be active problem-solvers and not stand idly by when others are being treated unfairly,” Ramirez said.
The outgoing principal had a special message for his students, asking them to always try their best, to never believe anything is out of their reach, and to make themselves and their parents proud every day.
“I am very lucky to have worked in such a fine district as North Brunswick, and to have met all of you. I am honored to have been given the opportunity to work with the Board of Education, students, staff, parents and administration of North Brunswick. I would like to especially thank the Parsons community for welcoming me and the continued support you have given Parsons in my time here,” he said.
According to Superintendent of Schools Brian Zychowski, the district just started to advertise to fill the position, as Ramirez is required to honor a 60-day separation period.
