During the review of the surveillance footage, a suspect description was obtained and a possible identification was made.

After processing the scene, Guiamano assisted patrol units in attempting to locate the suspect. While in the area of Krauszer’s at 81 Main St., Guiamano located a male matching the suspect description carrying several bags. The male, a 33-year old from Newark, was identified and charged with burglary, according to police.

During his follow up investigation, Guiamano reportedly found the suspect to be in possession of possible stolen proceeds which included money, navigation units, a cellular phone, tools, camera equipment, credit cards, identifications and numerous other personal items, according to reports. It was determined that these items were allegedly stolen from another vehicle on Hillside Avenue as well as numerous victims in Sayreville.

The suspect was subsequently charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and theft of a credit card with intent to use. He was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick pending a court date.

With assistance from the Sayreville Police Department Detective Bureau, a large amount of recovered stolen property was successfully returned to victims from South River and Sayreville, police said.

Anyone with information should call Guiamano at 732-254-9002, ext.123.
