Engineering firm tapped to work on projects

FREEHOLD – The Borough Council has hired Abbington Engineering to provide services associated with municipal projects in Freehold Borough during 2017.

Abbington Engineering will provide engineering services that include surveying, mapping, design, preparation of plans and specifications, and construction, administration and inspection, according to a resolution that was passed by the council.

Abbington Engineering will undertake work associated with the planned resurfacing of Phyllis Road. The firm’s work on the project is not to exceed $52,800.

Freehold Borough has received a $185,000 municipal aid grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation which will be dedicated to the Phyllis Road project, according to the resolution.

In other business, council members passed a resolution confirming the appointments of Timothy Ackerman and Timothy Zawaski as laborers in the Water and Sewer Department, and Justin Curet as a laborer in the Streets and Roads Department. The appointments are pending the successful completion of pre-employment testing.

The resolution also confirmed the resignation of Jaclyn Reiman as Municipal Court clerk, effective June 23, and the retirement of Loreta Emanuel as library page, effective Sept. 1.

Borough officials are seeking an individual to assume the position of court clerk. Interested applicants may submit a resume to Business Administrator Joseph Bellina, 51 W. Main St.
