SHREWSBURY – Entrants from the New Jersey Chapter of American Society (ASID) of Interior Designers, interior designers from the New Jersey chapter of ASID, as well as friends and family gathered for the Design Excellence Awards dinner gala at Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury.

Eighteen chapter interior designers won 30 prizes. Many of these winners were from Monmouth and Essex counties and were awarded their prizes at the gala on June 14.

Artistic Marble and Granite Surfaces of Hawthorne, and Blackman®, a plumbing, heating, and waterworks company were event sponsors.

For the Chapter’s Design Excellence Awards, designers could submit projects in residential and commercial/non-residential sectors. The residential sector had 11 categories in which designs could be entered, from a single space to a historic preservation project.

On the commercial/non-residential side, the seven categories for these awards included everything from a retail, showroom, or exhibit space to government, institutional, or space(s). All entries had to have used at least one industry partner at the time of the project to be submitted to be qualified for the award.

“Successful entries demonstrated exceptional design and positive impact on life and the human experience in keeping with ASID’s mission,” Anna Maria Mannarino said, Allied ASID, President of the New Jersey Chapter. “The Design Excellence awards reinforce the ASID commitment to important design principals.”
