Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center-Old Bridge recently welcomed board certified general surgeon Andrew H. Boyarsky, MD, FACS, to its medical staff.
He is a longtime surgical educator and achieved recognition as professor of surgery, Emeritus at Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
As a general surgeon, Boyarsky handles an array of diseases, including but not limited to conditions affecting the gall bladder, abdomen and breasts, skin and soft tissue, hernia and the endocrine system. He specializes in complex incisional hernia repair, solid organ laparoscopic surgery and benign pancreatic surgery.
Multiple National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and professional athletic programs have relied on Boyarsky to evaluate and repair athlete hernias.
Boyarsky received his medical degree and completed his residency at what is now Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed fellowship training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He has served for more than 30 years in various leadership and academic positions at Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, including professor of surgery.
He is the author or co-author of more than 90 professional and clinical articles and presentations.
In addition to joining Raritan Bay’s medical staff, Boyarski joins the Meridian Medical Group, an extensive network of physicians throughout Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Boyarsky’s office is located at Raritan Bay, 2 Hospital Plaza, Suite 340, Old Bridge. His office and Raritan Bay-Old Bridge’s surgical suites are housed in the same building, allowing his patients to receive pre-operative testing and bloodwork, visit his office and have surgery in the same facility.
