Red Bank’s Two River Theater sets summer schedule

Two River Theater in Red Bank has announced its summer schedule with entertainment for all ages.

Now through July 2, the Shadow Lawn Stage at Monmouth University will perform the classic, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. There will be 10 performances of the play, all at Woods Theatre on Monmouth’s campus, according to the Two River Theater press release. The cast includes professional members of Actors’ Equity Association, Monmouth University students and alumni, and new rising stars, according to the release.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra is coming to Red Bank for a free open-air concert. The concert will be on July 2 at 8 p.m. at Marine Park in Red Bank. The symphony truck will roll into Marine Park, where the sides will open up as the truck converts into a mobile stage, according to the release.

Every Friday and Saturday evening from July 7 through July 29, citizens can go to Two River Theater for Summer Jazz Cafe at 8 p.m. The Summer Jazz Cafe has been labeled as a “Pick of the Year” by the Tri-City News and is a great night out with family and friends or a fun date night for a summer’s eve, according to the release.

Kids ages 8 to 18 can sign up for Two River Summer Theater Camp. Interested parents can sign their kids up for the one week camp starting the week of July 10 through the week of July 24, or send them for all three weeks, according to the release.

From July 26 through July 30 throughout Red Bank, the Indie Street Film Festival will take place. According to the release, there will be multiple venues, including the Two River Theater and Count Basie Theatre.

Two River Theater will host the Crossing Borders (Cruzando Fronteras) Festival on August 2 through August 6. According to the release, Crossing Borders includes English-language readings of four plays (one of which is also read in Spanish), conversations with artists following every reading, a keynote address from a leader within the Latino arts community, and a free outdoor neighborhood party with live music.

The theater is also offering a Jazz Festival trip package to the 2017 Newport Jazz Festival in Newport, Rhode Island. Two River Theater patrons will get $20 off the day trip package, which includes round trip luxury bus transportation and a full festival day ticket. Student rate prices are not included. To redeem the discount, patrons can go to the WBGO Eventbrite website, click on the Tickets button and hit the “Enter Promo Code” link at the top of the screen. The Promo Code is TwoRiver, according to the release.

On August 6, at 3 p.m., the Two River Theater will have a Beatlemania Stage Show. The show will be a reenactment of The Beatles in full costume and authentic style performing from The Ed Sullivan Show, to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road, creating the real live-concert style of The Beatles. Tickets will be $55, according to the release.
