Affordable Housing Alliance held golf and track outing

On June 23, the Affordable Housing Alliance held the Spring House Invitational Golf and Track Outing at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Colts Neck and Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport. 

According to the Affordable Housing Alliance press release, the outing helped provide funding for counseling services to families that live in Affordable Housing Alliance homes. The program provides life-learning programs on aging, English as a second language, eviction prevention, parenting education, nutritional counseling, résumé writing and job search assistance, according to the release. 

The programs also provide recreation and educational services. According to the release, the Affordable Housing Alliance also provides an after-school homework club, bingo and family movie nights, and recreational trips and cultural outings, coordinated by licensed social workers.

The event was attended by golfers who are vendors, contractors and board members of the Affordable Housing Alliance and their family members, according to the release. The golfers received a complimentary continental breakfast, drinks and cigars before going to assigned holes to play. After golf, the group went to Monmouth Park Racetrack to watch the races and were treated to a barbecue, according to the release.

According to the release, since 1991, the Affordable Housing Alliance has been improving the quality of life for New Jersey residents by developing and preserving affordable housing, providing services to maintain affordable housing, providing housing education, and helping communities meet their legal and moral housing obligations. The Affordable Housing Alliance is the leading nonprofit housing provider in Monmouth County and serves the state with a mix of utility, education and counseling services, according to the release. The Affordable Housing Alliance has developed hundreds of units of new, affordable single-family homes, group homes, multi-unit rental housing and rehabilitated housing, and it provides foreclosure counseling and new homebuyer education, according to the release.
