Pet adoption event to include games of chance, thrift sale

Residents of Keyport will enjoy a night out with their dogs, complete with local vendors, live entertainment, and a farmer's market. A special viewing of the film "A Dog's Purpose" will also be shown on West Front Street.

New Beginnings Animal Rescue will host a “Moonlight Madness” Open House from 4-9 p.m. Aug. 4 at the rescue, 706-R Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Rain date Aug. 11.

DJ Mike the Apeman will host a trivia contest, Name That Tune and Let’s Make a Deal, with a chance to win prizes. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Also, spin to win on the “Wheel of Cakes”

Complimentary refreshments include watermelon, lemonade and treats.

A thrift store will also be open with most items 50 percent off and a special $1 sale table.

In addition, fee-free adoptions will be offered for all adult cats and dogs. All pets are already spayed/neutered, up-to-date with vaccines, dewormed, tested, groomed and vet-checked. Adoption applications and reference check required.
