The Saraswati Cultural Association Inc. and the Borough of South River will hold its first India Independence Day Flag Raising ceremony at 10 a.m. on Aug. 12 at the municipal building, 64-66 Main St., South River.

The ceremony will commemorate the 70th anniversary of India’s independence from the British Empire.
The event is free. Samosas and sweets will be provided to attendees. All are welcome.
