Dearest mother and sister, professional in fashion
industry, formerly of Montclair and Hillsborough. Loretta
M. McManus (Durso) an amazing and generous Mom
with a true joie de vivre passed peacefully 7/13/17, after
languishing 3 years from COPD.
Loretta was born in Brooklyn, 1/8/38 and is survived by
her loving daughters Michela and Deirdre and brother
Ernie; at 13 years old she lost her caring Mom,
Michela Durso (nee Guglielmo); her dear father was
Ernest Durso.
Loretta was elegant with a perpetual smile. She loved
smooth jazz, especially Pat Metheny; she adored Steven
Loretta worked as a stylist with Family Circle magazine
before she married Michael McManus (d. 2006) and
raised daughters in Queens NYC, then NJ 70’s-90’s:
Englishtown and Montclair (the family also lived a few
years in WPB, FL).
Loretta created her company: Innovations and produced
Fashion Shows, including an all Italian designers show at
the Plaza Hotel and Shows at Brendan Bryne Arena,
The Manor Restaurant and Nanina’s in the Park.
Loretta traveled to Europe for designers and managed
several boutiques in the Princeton Area and Short Hills
including YSL, Cache, Laurel, Escada; during her
“retirement” years she worked at Vera Bradley in
Bridgewater; along the way she met and maintained
friendships with many affable people and hosted cheerful
parties at her lovely homes.
She moved to Hillsborough in the early 2000’s and
dabbled in Real Estate too; she lived in Hillsborough
until 2015.
Loretta will always be remembered and missed; Cin Cin,
Mommy, we love you!

Shrine Chapel of the Blessed, Raritan NJ.
