Touch-a-Truck fundraiser to support Monmouth Day Care Center

The Monmouth Day Care Center of Red Bank will hold its eighth annual Touch-a-Truck “fun-raiser” on Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Red Bank Middle School, 101 Harding Road, Red Bank.

Ambulances, fire engines, military vehicles, limousines, dump trucks and other construction equipment will be on display in the middle school parking lot for children to look at and explore. The operators will also be present to describe the vehicles and the work they do with them each day.

According to the Monmouth Day Care Center, the “fun-raiser” is a way to facilitate a child’s interest in learning about different vehicles that serve them in the community.

“Every kid stops and watches when a police car or fire engine races by. This event gives them a chance to get to know these vehicles and the men and women who work with them, while contributing to a good cause,” said Heidi Zaentz, MDCC’s Executive Director.

In addition to the vehicles, there will be games, music, food vendors and a 50/50 raffle announced during the event.

All proceeds from the event benefit the center, which is a non-profit organization that services all children regardless of economic status, race or religion.

The Monmouth Day Care Center has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Younger children by creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all children to learn and thrive.

Tickets are $20 for a family up to four for game activities if purchased prior to the event. They will be $25 at the door. To purchase tickets or find more information on the event, visit www.monnmouthdaycarecenter1969.org.
