Metuchen Grapplers registration open for area students

Registration is open for the Metuchen Grapplers wrestling team. Students in grades 2-8 who reside in Metuchen and North Edison (zip code 08820) are eligible to join the team, according to a press release from the Grapplers.

The season, which will include dual meets and state tournaments, starts in December. Practices begin on Nov. 13 at Metuchen High School.

Registration cost is $125 for each wrestler in a family, plus one refundable $100 work bond per family, according to the release. Scholarships are available, and anyone who registers by Oct. 15 will be eligible to receiver a two-piece Metuchen Grapplers warm-up uniform, according to the release. Everyone will receive a Grapplers t-shirt.

Seventh- and eighth-graders will be have the opportunity to participate in dual meets and a league tournament in the North Jersey Wrestling League. There is also a pre-team clinic for grades K-2, according to the release. The registration cost for that is $75 per wrestler.
