David McCarthy, organist and composer, and Christopher Deibert, organ recitalist and executive director of the Music at St. Mary’s Concert Series, will present their “Dueling Organ Improvisation Recital” on the church’s historic 1883 Jardine pipe organ at 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at St. Mary’s Church, 256 Augusta St., South Amboy.
The performers, who will create on-the-spot improvisations together from material submitted by the audience, will also present masterworks from their repertoire.
All Music at St. Mary’s concerts are open to the public with a free will donation only. Suggested donation is $15.
