Resident takes issue with hire in Edison

In the last publication, this article was written: “Resident says Edison’s new hire is a waste of taxpayers money.”

“I cannot help to be skeptical whenever I see our tax dollars used to magically conjure up a job that didn’t exist before. This one just looks like another waste of our money”, said Wayne Mascola, Edison, previous councilman of Edison, was referring to the new position of Constituent Relations Liaison.

Could this be a payoff so that [Edison Mayor Thomas] Lankey can get the Indian voting block?  I wonder.

We should have, as the article suggests, a liaison for the elderly because we (those over 65) should have our taxes reduced. What about having a Latino, and African American Liaison? What Mayor Lankey failed to realize by introducing this position so close to the election cycle is that it looks like a bribe to the Indian community. I hope that they see through the smoke and mirrors and vote for the best candidate not the one holding out the candy.

Just because the Indian community is numerous, doesn’t give our town’s government the authorization to commit taxpayer dollars to ridiculous jobs. As the Constituent Relations Liaison will Mr. [Mahesh] Bhagia report that the community needs special zoning or other assistance costing taxpayer money? We need to be consistent to all not just a particular segment of the township.
