Road Closures and detours expected due to utility work Sept. 30 in Edison

The Public Service Electric & Gas Co. (PSE&G), in close coordination with the Edison Fire and Police Departments, will be performing gas main maintenance on the Talmadge Road Bridge crossing over Route 287 in Edison on Saturday, Sept. 30.

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The purpose of this work is to ensure safe, reliable utility service for area residents and businesses. During this period, utility service to PSE&G customers will continue as usual.

There will be road closures associated with this work and local police will be onsite to oversee the temporary traffic pattern. Motorists may want to travel an alternate route during this work. PSE&G regrets any inconvenience this may cause.

PSE&G is working closely with the Department of Transportation and local police and fire departments to coordinate the work and ensure public safety.
