Friendship Circle will host color run

Friendship Circle of Central Jersey’s fourth annual Color Run will return to the Manalapan Recreation Center, 120 Route 522, Manalapan, on Oct. 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Members of the public are invited to support children who have special needs.

More than 250 men, women and children will run and walk and be sprayed from head to toe with an array of colors to create a colorful canvas of people of all ages, according to a press release.

Event organizers said 100 percent of the proceeds will go toward providing individuals who have special needs with social and educational experiences they would not otherwise have.

“Not only does the event create awareness of inclusion and disabilities, the Friendship Circle Color Run helps develop a strong sense of community,” said the organization’s volunteer director Moushkie Volovik.

For families involved in the Friendship Circle, the Friendship Circle Color Run celebrates inclusion and how different people (and colors), when joined together, create something beautiful and greater than their individual parts, according to the press release.

“When someone you love has autism, all you want for them is to be accepted, to be happy,” said Vickie Eisen, whose son, Jake, has autism. “The Friendship Circle has done just that.”

Various registration levels are available, including VIP, Advanced, Basic and Child, and fees range from $19.99 to $44.99.
