Colts Neck

Colts Neck High School looks for its first victory of the year when it hosts Freehold High School on Oct. 14. The game will kick off at 12 p.m.

The Cougars lost, 42-8, to Manalapan High School on Oct. 7 in Colts Neck, dropping to 0-5 on the season. Senior Sabour Quddus scored the only touchdown of the game for Colts Neck. Senior Jalen Dawson scored on the two-point conversion for the Cougars.

Freehold

Freehold’s offense exploded in its 56-14 victory over Monroe Township High School on Oct. 7 in Freehold.

The Colonials’ quarterback, senior Ashante Worthy, threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns, while he ran for 129 yards and three touchdowns to spark the victory. Freshman running back Ahmad Dixon ran for 106 yards and two scores to contribute to the victory, which lifted the Colonials to 2-3 on the season.

Freehold will travel to Colts Neck High School on Oct. 14 at 12 p.m.

Freehold Township

Freehold Township High School improved to 5-0 on the season when the Patriots pitched a 14-0 shutout over Perth Amboy High School on Oct. 6 in Perth Amboy.

Nick Reardon and Nic Nasso each ran for a touchdown to lead Freehold Township. Reardon also passed for 71 yards. The Patriots caused three fumbles on defense.

The Patriots will be home to Jackson Liberty High School on Oct. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Howell

The Howell High School offense once again used a balanced attack to roll by Neptune High School, 42-3, on Oct. 6 in Neptune.

Senior Edwin Morales III, one of the finer quarterbacks in the Shore Conference, passed for a touchdown and kept one for a score, while junior back Gerard Urso ran for two touchdowns.

Howell will travel to Manalapan on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. Both teams come into the showdown at 5-0.

Manalapan

The Braves kept rolling in a 42-8 victory over Colts Neck on Oct. 7 in Colts Neck. The victory sent Manalapan to 5-0 on the year.

Senior running back Naim Mayfield gained 215 yards rushing and scored four touchdowns for Manalapan.

The Braves will welcome Howell on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.

Marlboro

Marlboro High School seeks its second victory of the year when it hosts Neptune on Oct. 14 at 1 p.m.

The Mustangs lost, 28-14, at East Brunswick High School on Oct. 6. Marlboro was led by running back Raheem Bolden, who scored on a 55-yard touchdown sprint, and quarterback Kyle Moore.

The loss dropped Marlboro to 1-4 this season.
