JACKSON – Patrons of Six Flags Great Adventure will be able to consume alcohol in more than one location at the theme park.

The Township Council has authorized the place-to-place transfer of the plenary retail alcoholic beverage consumption license for Six Flags Great Adventure theme park, Route 537, Jackson.

On Sept. 26, the council unanimously passed a resolution allowing the addition of locations for alcohol consumption in the theme park: Harbor BBQ, Paradise Pizza, Metro Grill, the Watering Hole and Wicked Brew.

“The five extra locations are within the theme park. Alcohol is not allowed throughout the park, so Six Flags must name each individual location within the park where they wish to sell alcohol,” Deputy Clerk Janice Kisty said.

“Every year the number of locations changes to more or less locations that will sell alcohol. These changes result in what is called a place-to-place transfer,” she said.

During a brief meeting, each council member expressed sympathy for the residents of Puerto Rico who are continuing to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

In regular business, the council authorized the renewal of a campground license for the Indian Rock Resort, West Veterans Highway, and awarded a $26,200 contract to Nickolaus Construction Company, Southampton Township, for a tennis court resurfacing project.

Council members authorized a $44,900 contract award to the Dawson Corporation, Jackson, for a tree planting program in the Hawkins Ridge neighborhood.

Council President Ken Bressi thanked Mayor Michael Reina for attending the meeting and for having a “thin blue line” that honors law enforcement personnel painted at the municipal complex, which houses the headquarters of the Jackson Police Department.
