Holiday Express clambake raises a record setting $150,000

More than 450 people attended the 10th annual Holiday Express Clambake, sponsored by Shore Point Distributing Company on Sept. 17 at McLoone’s Pier House.

The evening, which honored Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist Darlene Love, raised a record setting $150,000 to support Holiday Express’ mission, which is to deliver music, food, gifts, financial support and friendship to those with the greatest need for assistance during the holiday season and throughout the year.

Established by Tim McLoone in 1993, Holiday Express is a non-profit organization, comprised of more than 2,500 volunteers, including 150 professional rock, jazz, folk, gospel and pop musicians.

Proceeds from the clambake will improve the quality of life for the 27,000 adults and children being served by Holiday Express at 100 charity events during the 2017 holiday season, including individuals with mental and physical challenges, veterans, individuals in addiction programs, those facing financial difficulties, and children with serious illnesses.
