Local marching bands to participate in competition Oct. 21

The Monroe Township High School Marching Band will hold its 11th annual Home Show on Oct. 21 with 14 area high school bands scheduled to participate in the competition.

The event begins at 12:10 p.m. at the Monroe Township High School football stadium, 200 Schoolhouse Road, Monroe, sponsored by the Monroe Township High School Music Parents Association.

Marching bands representing schools from throughout New Jersey and surrounding states will perform, including units from West Windsor-Plainsboro North, Glen Ridge, Rumson-Fair Haven Regional, Pequannock Township, Middletown North, Long Branch, Rahway, Hightstown, Old Bridge, Council Rock South, North Brunswick, Howell and Colonia.

Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. There will be food, beverages and baked goods/desserts for sale.
