Resident supports Gopal for state Senate

Share post:

It is time to drain Chris Christie’s swamp. Vin Gopal, who is running for state Senate, is just the candidate to replace Jennifer Beck, who has voted against important measures to stay in Gov. Christie’s good graces. She even co-chaired Gov. Christie’s unsuccessful presidential campaign.

She voted against an override of Gov. Christie’s veto of common sense gun control legislation – a bill she co-sponsored and had previously voted for. She also voted against bills supporting pay equity for women and healthcare for women.

She flip-flopped on a bill creating desperately needed reforms to the Port Authority after the George Washington Bridge scandal. While initially supporting the bill, she then voted against it when Gov. Christie opposed it.

Vin Gopal supports pay equity for women, making college more affordable, funding for women’s healthcare and providing property tax relief by such measures as consolidating municipal services.

Vin Gopal will be an independent voice who will vote for legislation in support of his constituents, not political bosses in Trenton.

He is endorsed by Garden State Equality, the Communications Workers of America, the Sierra Club, the New Jersey Education Association, the Health Professionals and Allied Employees Union and the League of Conservation Voters, among others.

With Vin Gopal in the Senate, he will make an excellent addition to a team that includes Assembly members Joann Downey and Eric Houghtaling, as well as Phil Murphy for governor. Together, these candidates will take us in a new direction and out of the swamp made by people like Gov. Christie and Sen. Beck.
