Cyclocross event scheduled for Oct. 28, 29 in Jamesburg

Highland Park Cyclocross (HPCX) will include 36 events for the nation’s top cyclists in the sport of cyclo-cross to support the Rutgers University Cycling team on Oct. 28 and 29 at Thompson Park, 1701 Perrineville Road, Jamesburg.

The three-kilometer course through Thompson Park will include dirt, grass and pavement for cyclocross competitors and provides off camber turns, two run-ups and one section of artificial barriers. A signature sand pit will return this year. The course provides convenient viewing areas for spectators.

On both days, amateur races will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Lil’ Belgians children’s races at 12:55 p.m.; UCI Elite Women ProCX from 1:15-2:05 p.m.; UCI Elite Men ProCX from 2:15-3:15 p.m.; and Category 3/4 Men from 3:30-4:15 p.m.

Admission and parking are free for spectators. Registration for junior and adult cyclo-cross events range from $15-$45. Day-of registration ($10 additional fee) and number pick-up for USAC category races will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. on both weekend days. Registration closes 15 minutes prior to to the start of each USAC event.
