Programs on doctor visits, Medicare planned for November

The East Brunswick Library will host two health programs in November.

Dr. Ira Merkel will present “How To Speak To Your Doctor” at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at the library, Jean Walling Civic Center Drive. The program offers suggestions on how patients can get the most out of their medical appointments. Merkel is a clinical associate professor of Medicine at Rutgers Medical School and is a practicing gastroenterologist in East Brunswick. Registration is not required.

On Nov. 14, the library will host a Medicare workshop at 6 p.m. It will cover Medicare changes in 2017, understanding plans and policies, and the biggest mistakes made by beneficiaries. The workshop is led by Justin Lubenow and Mike Salem of Senior Advisors. Registration is recommended by calling 732-390-6767.

The programs are free and open to the public.
