Rumson field hockey team claims Shore Conference crown

The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School field hockey team is the Shore Conference Tournament champion after beating Southern Regional High School, 5-0, on Nov. 4 in Hazlet.

The victory marks the fourth year in a row that the Bulldogs have won the Shore Conference Tournament.

The Bulldogs are also still alive in the NJSIAA Group 2 tournament and played at West Essex High School on Nov. 7. If they defeated West Essex, they will advance to the Group 2 finals in Bordentown on Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. against either Seneca High School or West Deptford High School.

Ruimson-Fair Haven dominated throughout the state sectional tournament to capture the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 title. The Bulldogs defeated Hackettstown High School, 5-0, in the championship game. They made their way to the finals with victories in the semifinals against Voorhees High School, 7-0, and in the quarterfinals against Somerville High School, 12-0. The Bulldogs earned a bye in the first round.
