Woman wanted on gun charge allegedly found with heroin at motel

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – Police forced entry into a motel room in South Brunswick to find a woman allegedly in possession of heroin.

South Brunswick police received information that a wanted suspect was staying at the La Mirage Motel on Route 1.

Officer James Kraivec, Officer Martin Halmi and Sgt. Ken Herman went to the motel around 5 p.m. Oct. 31. Officers learned the 27-year-old female resident of South River was wanted out of Middlesex County Superior Court for third degree drug charges. She was also wanted on a gun charge out of South River, according to a statement provided by the South Brunswick Police Department.

Officers located the room but the woman allegedly refused to open the door, according to the statement. Officers forced entry into the motel room and discovered the woman inside, allegedly with narcotic paraphernalia and heroin.

The woman was taken to police headquarters and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of hypodermic syringes and obstruction of justice. She was lodged in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center on the outstanding Superior Court charges.
