The Hillsborough Dukes Pee Wee cheer team is the 2017 Eastern Region Pop Warner champions.
The Dukes Cheer team proved to be the best in the region Saturday, defeating teams from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. The team is now preparing to continue its season by traveling to Disney World in Florida to compete for the national title on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports for the 2017 Pop Warner National Cheer & Dance Championships.
The Dukes cheer squad consists of 27 girls that have put in countless hours of practice. The girls proved that having fun while performing is a sure-win combination.
The team’s motto “The Work Is Worth It” has been proven three times this season beginning with first-place wins at the Jersey Valley Conference Competition and New Jersey State Pop Warner Competition then again in the Eastern Regions.
The girls will continue their fundraising efforts to attempt to offset the travel cost to send the girls to Florida. Check out the Dukes website www.hillsboroughdukes.com and facebook page facebook.com/Hillsboroughdukes to help support your Hillsborough Dukes Cheerleaders. They are also hosting a Tastefully Simple Party in the HMS Cafeteria, Friday, Nov. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m.
