Handel’s ‘Messiah’ to be performed during candlelit concert

On March 19, 2015, the Marine Band performed at Messiah College in Mechnicsburg, Pa. The program, conducted by Lt. Col. Jason K. Fettig, included music by Samuel Jones, David Conte, Maurice Ravel, Bernard Hermann, John Philip Sousa, and John Williams. The concert was a part of the National Trumpet Competition and also featured guest soloist John Rommel performing David Gillingham’s When Speaks the Signal-Trumpet Tone. Music at Saint Mary’s will present Handel’s “Messiah” during a candlelit concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 16 at Saint Mary Church, 256 Augusta St., South Amboy.
The Saint Mary Chamber Orchestra and Choral Society’s annual presentation will be under the direction of Maestro Christopher M.C. Deibert.
The Advent/Christmas portion of this work will be performed in its entirety, along with excerpts from the second and third parts. 
Admission is free, though a $15 donation is suggested.
