Luxury car reported stolen from Manalapan home

MANALAPAN – Police are investigating the theft of a luxury vehicle in Manalapan.

On Nov. 16 at 8:35 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Deepwater Circle to investigate a report of a stolen motor vehicle.

Deepwater Circle is in a residential development off Woodward Road.

Police said a white 2017 Mercedes Benz GLS, valued at $81,930, was taken from the home’s driveway sometime between midnight and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 16. The vehicle was parked and left unlocked, with the key fob inside the vehicle.

In other incidents reported by police:

• On Nov. 19 at 11:48 a.m., a 54-year-old resident of East Windsor reported that his construction dump trailer valued at $11,000 was removed from a residential property on Smithburg Road. The trailer contained 1,000 pounds of three-quarter inch blue stone valued at $100. The trailer was removed from the property sometime between 10 p.m. Nov. 18 and 11:48 a.m. Nov. 19 by unknown suspects.

• On Nov. 17 at 2:34 p.m., a 41-year-old female resident of Marlboro was arrested for shoplifting at Wegmans, Route 9. The woman was found to be in possession of $451.62 worth of items. She was detained by store security officers and was arrested by Manalapan Patrolman Bryan Belardo.

• On Nov. 16 at 11:46 p.m., officers responded to Wegmans, Route 9, to investigate a report of counterfeit money. Loss prevention employees told the officers that on Nov. 13 at 10:05 p.m., a woman paid for groceries with a counterfeit $100 bill.

• On Nov. 17 at 2:05 p.m., a 54-year-old female resident of Manalapan told police that sometime between July and November, unknown individuals removed several pieces of jewelry from a bedroom closet in her home. No forced entry to the home was observed. The missing jewelry is valued at approximately $40,000. The woman provided police with the names of three possible suspects who had access to the residence. The incident is under investigation.
