Members of the Girl Scouts of Holmdel admire the lights on the tree during the annual Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting held at the Holmdel Town Hall on December 3. The annual event included a performance by the Satz School Band, the holiday lighting, and a visit from Santa Claus.

The Dayton Village Citizens Coalition will sponsor its 15th Annual Holiday Lighting Celebration on Dec. 10.

Starting at 3:45 p.m., children can hang their own natural ornaments for wildlife at the Slack Carroll House, 354 Georges Road, Dayton section of South Brunswick. At 4:15 p.m. there will be singing led by a local high school group in garden next to La Taverna Restaurant, located at the 5 Corners of Dayton. At 4:45 p.m. a surprise guest will arrive with treats for the children. The grand finale of the tree lighting will take place at 4:55 p.m.

Afterward, everyone is invited for hot chocolate and cookies at the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church of Dayton across the street from the tree lighting. Scout troops are welcome.

Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the South Brunswick Food Pantry.
