Teenager succumbs to injuries after crash in South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – A Bergen County teenager has died as a result of injuries she suffered in a one car crash on Dec. 3.

South Brunswick Police were called to Fresh Ponds Road near Selma Drive around 6:31 p.m. for a vehicle off the roadway into a tree. The teenager was operating a 2012 Honda Pilot headed eastbound on Fresh Ponds Road when it reportedly left the roadway on a curve and struck a tree, according to information provided by the police department.

The Monmouth Junction Fire Department responded to the crash. Firefighters extricated the victim after 30 minutes. South Brunswick EMS and paramedics took the teenager to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She succumbed to her injuries at 6 a.m. Dec. 4 at the hospital, police said.

She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
