Auditions announced for ‘Beauty and the Beast’

The North Brunswick Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (DPRCS) has announced “Beauty and the Beast” as its 48th annual community theater musical.

Vocal and dialogue auditions will begin at 7 p.m. on Jan. 4 in the music room at North Brunswick Township High School, 98 Raider Road, North Brunswick, for the roles of Belle, Beast, Gaston, Maurice, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, Chip, Babette, Madame De La Grande Bouche, Lefou and Monsieur D’arque. Those auditioning should prepare at least 16 measures of a song from any Broadway show, though songs from the show are preferred, and be ready to read from the script.

There will be a meeting of the entire company and all others interested in joining the cast or working behind the scenes at 10 a.m. on Jan. 6 at the high school.

Callbacks for featured roles will continue as necessary following the company meeting.

No roles have been pre-cast. No experience is necessary.

Production dates at the school are March 1-3.
