VFW Post to hold ceremony to acknowledge the homeless

National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day is held on Dec. 21, which is the first day of winter and the longest night of the year.

VFW Post 9111 will hold an evening of remembrance, music, caring, awareness, poetry and community at 6 p.m. Dec. 21 at the post, 9111 Henderson Road, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick.

Refreshments to follow.

Donations of gently used men’s, women’s and children’s coats in all sizes, as well as hats, gloves and scarfs will be collected.
